Freedom (pt 2)

Posted on Jan 2nd, 2009 by Paul Pennell : Journeysmith/Songwriter/Pianist Paul Pennell
Freedom.  It’s what we all seek. Actually.  Every great religion teaches that its’ tools offered, provide new opportunity and radical experiences towards it and into it…Freedom.  You have to want it so badly that you are willing, literally, to enter inside every part of yourself in order to find it . To face everything.  Your weakness.  Your fears  Your experiences and traumas.  Your horrors and yes, your Powers and Strengths.  The light . Stop throwing your light onto others.  Drink it in yourSelf.  The Shadows.  Both sides.  Within this journey to your most authentic Self you will find Freedom.  Fortunately, unfortunately, it’s the process of going within, facing yourSelf and becoming real that you find Freedom.  It’s not given to you on a plate when you pray a prayer.  It’s not found like a ring under a sofa and you suddenly say AHA!, I found it!   It’s not one singular Oprah AHA! moment.  It’s a lifetime of personal choices that offer internal respect to your Spirit that releases the hold outside of your own internal castle that says, “You want freedom?  You’ve earned it. ”  Here, within this space of personal choice through facing everything within, Freedom is launched into your world at warp speed and everything you dreamed of and knew you were and had to offer yourSelf and the planet bows at your feet.  And you bring your hands together and gently pull them towards your chest and your heart bows from the waist to itSelf in quiet reverence of who you are and who you’ve become. That’s Freedom.  PP

Forgive Yourself.

Posted on Jan 10th, 2009 by Paul Pennell : Journeysmith/Songwriter/Pianist Paul Pennell

Hey, just forgive yourself. Screw up.  Do it wrong. Fuck it up.  And then, forgive yourself.  Just let it go.  Get the gift in it. Learn the lesson you got. Admit that there is something there you needed to learn and then just thank yourself, appreciate the gift the messed up choices brought and then let it go.  We make mistakes, feel guilt and shame and then we pull that from the past in the now.  And over the years we have more and more stuff that just builds up and before you know it, you're depressed, bummed, self-hating and really angry, deep down.  Stop today.  Look at how you've screwed things up. Decide you want to make a change for the better, think about forgiving yourself for the redicolous choices you've made and then feel the feeling of letting it all go.  Forgive it all.  Let it all go.  It will change your life.  Self forgiveness is the greatest forgiveness you can ever choose to offer to anyone.  You are the one that needs to be forgiven and who better to forgive you than yourself.

Make this a daily practice.  Look at where you're being passive aggressive.  Look at where you know your denying yourself the very best and not given yourself the things you really want.  Look each day at where you're betraying yourself and dishonoring yourself in this way.  It's there you hate yourself. It's there where you feel betrayed  internally and where you need to face forgiveness.  Each day, find that place and LET IT GO.  Say, "i forgive you, Paul for not doing what is best for me.  I forgive you Paul for handling this situation so poorly. I forgive you Paul for what you did here or there and I ask to see the gift that this lesson brings."  Then you will understand the purpose in this lesson and your forgiveness will let a bag of rocks fall from your shoulders.  :)  PP

What price power?

Posted on Jan 17th, 2009 by Paul Pennell : Journeysmith/Songwriter/Pianist Paul Pennell
What can keep you from being who you really are?  What stops you? What takes you away from the focus, the drive, the determination of being the most powerful, awakened, conscious you that you can be?   Look at what it is.  Is it worth it?  Does it give you a fair exchange?  Does it give you anything?   We have to earn the respect of our spirit and the price we pay is simple.  It's choice.  It's a moment of choosing.  Choice is the price and the payoff, well, it' pretty damn sweet.  Earning the respect of your Spirit is why we're here. It's where the power is. It's where the truest Self resides.  Within the respect we'll find the finest and truest and most powerful self esteem that exists for us.  So stop and ask if what you really want is ease, relief, safety?  Or if what you really seek is satisfaction, completion, power and peace?  What is it worth to you to sacrifice you're own soul's presence and peace?
